2009 Raffle

Get the word about the 2009 Guilford Sportsmen’s Association Raffle! Tickets have been mailed and should be received by Tuesday, June 30. Regular members are required to sell 15 tickets and senior members are required to sell 10 tickets. As in the past, the ticket price is $10. Please adhere to the following guidelines:
  • All provided tickets must be sold. Do Not Return Any Unsold Tickets!
  • This is a State of Connecticut registered raffle. All tickets must be accounted for. If you lose your tickets, you will be subject to a $200 fine plus you will be reissued new tickets which you are still obligated to sell.
  • Do not procrastinate about selling these tickets. Sell them quickly and return you stubs and payments promptly. This should avoid lost tickets.
  • Do not remove the staples from ticket books.
  • Use the enclosed return envelope when mailing ticket stubs and payments.
  • Please fill out the entire return envelope to ensure that tickets receipts are processed accurately. All information can be found on the information sheet that was mailed with your tickets.
  • If you do not receive your tickets by Friday, July 3, please call Tony Cavallaro at (203) 675-3509 immediately.

Attached is a flyer that should be helpful when trying to sell these tickets. This year’s prizes are extremely desirable and these tickets should be easy to sell. As you probably realize, the 2010 Chevy Camaro is in very short supply due to GM entering into bankruptcy and we were very lucky to have gotten our hands on one for this raffle. The car is on display in the Jackson Chevrolet showroom in Middletown.

We are also asking members to make an extra effort this year to sell additional tickets. Due to the higher value of our first prize, we have printed more tickets, and if all members could sell an additional five tickets, we have the potential of selling out and meeting our fundraising goal.

Thank you for your cooperation and efforts in making this raffle a success.

Archery Update

GSA will hold archery shoots on June 28 and August 30. Help will be needed on June 27 and August 29 for setup and maintenance.

Gun Control Legislation

Once again, our legislators are trying to take away our gun rights. This year, we are also facing legislation that could possibly shut down shooting ranges in the state. Despite past efforts and the range bill that was passed last year, clubs such as ours may come under the scrutiny of these regulations. We all need to contact our legislators to tell them how strongly we feel about this pending legislation. The link below will help you to send a formatted letter to the legislators in your district. We urge you to subscribe to this website and use it to frequently stay in touch with your representatives. This is not the time to stand on the sidelines. Get involved in the legislative process!
